What makes the mines suitable?

The valley mines are well suited for depositing hazardous waste from the treatment plant to NOAH. The rock in the mine and the processing method provides a total safe disposal of the stabilised waste.

How NOAH treats the waste

NOAH's process neutralises acid with ash. Through a simple chemical process, a gypsum is formed, which is of no risk to the surrounding area.

Research and development

NOAH develops technology to capture CO2 in fly ash. A trial project in Brevik has so far shown positive results.
